2. Executive Statement
YOUR DIGNIFIED CARE LTD is an active UK social-care organisation providing homecare and community-based personal support. Its service model includes regulated homecare, personal care, live-in care and respite care delivered in people’s own homes. The organisation has 20 care workers and 2 management staff, and use Roundsys for care management.
The company recognises that carbon reduction is a governance, procurement, affordability and service-continuity issue. YOUR DIGNIFIED CARE’s most material emissions are expected to arise from staff and business travel, employee commuting, purchased electricity, procurement of goods and services, and operational waste. This Plan sets out how those impacts will be measured and reduced without compromising safeguarding, responsiveness, continuity, dignity or assessed support needs.
| Board commitment YOUR DIGNIFIED CARE LTD commits to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions for its UK operations by 31 December, 2040 at the latest. Direct operational reductions will be prioritised before any consideration of carbon removals or offsets for residual emissions. |
Commissioner-facing summary
This CRP links senior accountability to practical controls: local recruitment, route planning, mileage monitoring, digital-first administration, energy efficiency, waste reduction, supplier engagement and annual data-quality improvement. Carbon actions will never override safe service delivery. Where travel is necessary to protect people, respond to risk or maintain continuity, it will proceed and be recorded accurately.
3. Organisation Profile and Carbon Boundary
| Area | YOUR DIGNIFIED CARE position |
|---|---|
| Legal entity | YOUR DIGNIFIED CARE LTD |
| Company number | 13466529 |
| Registered office | 1 Sandy Close, Wellingborough, England, NN8 5AY |
| Status | Active Private Limited Company |

Carbon reporting boundary
The reporting boundary covers YOUR DIGNIFIED CARE LTD UK operations. It includes office and administrative activity, staff travel required to deliver services, business travel, employee commuting, purchased electricity, operational waste, water where material, and the required subset of Scope 3 categories used in public-sector Carbon Reduction Plans.
| Boundary principle Where premises are shared, landlord-managed or serviced, YOUR DIGNIFIED CARE LTD will use direct meter data where available. Where direct data is unavailable, a documented and reasonable apportionment method will be applied and retained in the emissions workbook. |
Operational exclusions and limitations
No company-owned fleet or on-site fuel use has been observed; this will be confirmed annually.
The provisional baseline excludes unverified claims and is not presented as a measured footprint.
Any new contract, office, vehicle, subcontractor or material service change will trigger a boundary review.
4. Emissions Methodology
YOUR DIGNIFIED CARE LTD will calculate emissions in tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO2e) using the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Corporate Standard and the latest UK Government greenhouse gas conversion factors applicable to the reporting year. Scope 1, Scope 2 and the relevant Scope 3 categories will be reported separately. The plan is structured with reference to UK public procurement Carbon Reduction Plan guidance (PPN 006, succeeding PPN 06/21), including the five specified Scope 3 categories.
| Scope | Definition | Likely YOUR DIGNIFIED CARE sources | Evidence route |
|---|---|---|---|
| Scope 1 | Direct emissions from owned or controlled sources | Company vehicles, gas or other fuels if introduced | Fuel cards, invoices, mileage and lease records |
| Scope 2 | Indirect emissions from purchased energy | Electricity used at office or operational premises | Bills, landlord statements or apportioned meter data |
| Scope 3 | Indirect value-chain emissions | Business travel, employee commuting, waste, upstream and downstream transport/distribution | Mileage claims, surveys, waste records and supplier information |
Required Scope 3 subset
Upstream transportation and distribution
Waste generated in operations
Business travel
Employee commuting
Downstream transportation and distribution
| No unsupported zeroes A zero value will only be reported where evidence confirms that no emissions source exists. Where data is incomplete, YOUR DIGNIFIED CARE will label the figure as estimated, explain the assumption and record a data-improvement action. |
5. Initial 2026/27 Emissions Estimate
The 2026/27 period is used for the initial carbon-accounting planning assessment.
| Emission source | Scope | Provisional activity assumption | Estimated tCO2e | Confidence |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Office electricity | Scope 2 | 3,450kWh estimated for small/shared administrative use | 0.52 | Low - validate |
| Owned fuel/company vehicles | Scope 1 | No company fleet evidenced; confirm annually | 0.00 | Low - confirm |
| Service delivery and business mileage | Scope 3 business travel | Estimated 22,000 annual miles using staff vehicles | 5.93 | Low |
| Employee commuting | Scope 3 employee commuting | Initial commuting allowance for the reported workforce (20 care workers and 2 managers); travel patterns and mileage to be refined from survey | 2.38 | Low |
| Waste generated in operations | Scope 3 waste | Small office/administrative waste stream | 0.10 | Low |
| Upstream transport/distribution | Scope 3 upstream | Deliveries of office supplies, PPE and consumables | 0.15 | Low |
| Downstream transport/distribution | Scope 3 downstream | Limited document/material movements | 0.03 | Low |
| Total estimated gross emissions | 9.11 | Provisional |
Baseline and current reporting year summary
Initial reporting period: 2026/27. The same initial planning estimate is used for the baseline and current reporting position; it is not presented as a completed annual inventory.
Scope 1: 0.00 tCO2e | Scope 2: 0.52 tCO2e | Scope 3: 8.59 tCO2e | Total: 9.11 tCO2e.
Scope 3 category summary (initial estimates)
Category 4 – Upstream transportation and distribution: 0.15 tCO2e; Category 5 – Waste generated in operations: 0.10 tCO2e; Category 6 – Business travel: 5.93 tCO2e; Category 7 – Employee commuting: 2.38 tCO2e; Category 9 – Downstream transportation and distribution: 0.03 tCO2e. Total Scope 3: 8.59 tCO2e.
Additional relevant category – Purchased goods and services: PPE, uniforms, care consumables and office supplies are recognised as potential emissions sources. No separate quantified value is included in the 9.11 tCO2e total; expenditure/activity data will be assessed at the annual update to avoid unsupported figures or double counting.
Data quality: the travel, commuting, electricity and waste figures are estimated from planning assumptions. The 22-person workforce figure is the organisation-reported headcount, not a measured commuting survey. Annual comparisons will begin once the first completed reporting-year inventory is established.
Baseline interpretation
The initial estimate indicates that staff and business travel is likely to be YOUR DIGNIFIED CARE’s dominant emissions source, followed by employee commuting and purchased electricity. This is typical of mobile community-based support models. The reduction plan therefore prioritises local recruitment, geographically sensible caseload allocation, route efficiency, digital working, travel surveys and supplier controls.
6. Emissions Reduction Targets
YOUR DIGNIFIED CARE will use the validated 2026/27 footprint as its baseline and restate the trajectory if actual activity data differs materially from the initial estimate. Targets are designed to be stretching but realistic for a small, mobile social-care provider.
| Milestone | Target | Indicative position | Primary route |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/27 | Establish measured baseline and implement approved CRP | Initial estimate: 9.11 tCO2e | Data capture, mileage controls and governance |
| 2027/28 | Reduce validated emissions by 5% | Approx. 8.65 tCO2e if baseline confirmed | Route optimisation, digital working and staff engagement |
| 2028/29 | Reduce validated emissions by 15% | Approx. 7.74 tCO2e | Lower-carbon travel choices and supplier commitments |
| 2030 | Reduce validated emissions by 30% | Approx. 6.38 tCO2e | Sustained travel, energy and procurement improvements |
| 2035 | Reduce emissions by at least 65% where operationally feasible | Residual emissions mainly unavoidable travel | Low-carbon vehicles, renewable electricity and supply-chain change |
| 2040 | Achieve Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions | Residual emissions neutralised only after direct reductions | High-integrity removals/offsets for unavoidable residuals |
| Target governance requirement Targets will be reviewed annually by the Director. If the measured baseline differs materially from the initial estimate, the baseline and trajectory will be restated transparently rather than maintaining an inaccurate reduction path. |

12. Carbon Offsetting Position
YOUR DIGNIFIED CARE LTD will not rely on carbon offsets as the primary route to meeting near-term targets. The priority is to reduce avoidable emissions from travel, energy, procurement, waste and administration. If residual emissions remain on the route to Net Zero, YOUR DIGNIFIED CARE will only consider high-integrity, independently verified UK-relevant removals or offsets after direct reduction options have been exhausted and affordability, credibility and procurement acceptability have been reviewed.
13. Declaration and Sign-Off
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been prepared in accordance with the structure and intent of public-sector Carbon Reduction Plan reporting expectations. Emissions are expressed in tCO2e. Scope 1, Scope 2 and the required subset of Scope 3 categories are included. Estimated emissions are disclosed as estimates, with the underlying assumptions and a programme for collecting actual data.
